Even preschoolers are able to memorize the names of all twelve apostles, using the song, “Jesus Called
Them One by One.” These lessons include a copy of the song to send home as well as one to use for
a visual aid in class.
My class of 2s and 3s learned the names of the apostles, a little about them, and how important it is
that we all become “Fishers of Men” (Lesson 13). Lisa Smith created a more difficult text and activities
for older students for most of the lessons. The sample lesson will show you what is included in most of
the lessons. It is simple for a teacher to select the activities that best suit the needs of her students.
And I created a flip chart for each lesson, as I have found it helps the younger students pay attention
and learn more.
Activities are multiple choice with picture answers to circle, gluing, match the same pictures (using
pictures to help the class review), coloring and a variety of other activities. This download includes
many color graphics which make the lessons more attractive.
Lisa Smith and I (Barbara Hanna) are both members of the churches of Christ. Her husband preaches
for the church in Vinland, Kansas. My husband, Joe, and I have worshiped with the Shallowater church
of Christ in Texas for 18 years, and prior to that worshiped with the Vinland, KS church.
