Sophie is Married

Angie’s friends and acquaintances will be pleased to learn that Sophie is 20 now and happily married. She lived with Joe and me in Shallowater the past two and a half years. She graduated from High School and has been attending South Plains College. She will be attending Texas Tech University beginning in January.  

Sophie dated Gerrit Richardson more than three years before they were married in Lubbock by a Justice of the Peace. Gerrit was living in a cottage with other guys and each one has a separate bedroom and bathroom. They share a kitchen. So Sophie is living there with Gerrit for the time being. His lease will end in August 2023, at which time Sophie and Gerrit plan to move into their own home. She has kept her maiden name of Sophia Rachelle Lee.

We have a very close relationship with them and they usually come to eat with us at least once a week. Gerrit is a talented carpenter. Sophie’s goal is to become an anesthesiologist. Sophie and Gerrit will be going on a honeymoon over Christmas break. She bought a beautiful wedding dress and they will have pictures taken in the mountains of Tennessee during the honeymoon.

After the honeymoon, they will have a reception in Lubbock, TX. Our son Mike will fly here from Raleigh, NC for the reception.
