Family Tragedy

On August 30, 2003, Angie (Hanna) Lee was killed in a tragic car accident.

Angela Michelle Lee, beloved daughter of Joe and Barbara Hanna, was killed in a car accident in Phoenix, Arizona on Saturday, August 30, 2003.  Angie was 33 years old.  She was the devoted mother of Sophie, who will be one year old on October 13, 2003.

Angie's husband, Eric, has moved to Olton, TX with Sophie.  His mother will care for Sophie when he goes back to work.

Angie was a true servant of God.  We are comforted by this knowledge.  The day after her death, Eric worshiped God as did Job after the death of his ten children (Job 1:19-22).

Why was this very special Christian taken at such a young age?  During the Wednesday night devotional, a man commented that if Christians never suffered hardship, people would want to be Christians for the wrong reasons.  We pray that Angie's good works will live on in the lives of those she helped, and that God will be glorified.

In order that Sophie may someday "know" her mother, I (Barbara) am making a book with letters to Sophie and comments from those who were touched by Angie's life.  The book will be given free of charge to those who want to read about her life.  (The book will not contain any letters which are marked confidential for Sophie only.)  It is my hope that Angie's life will inspire others to greater service to God.  May we all remember that this life is short and we must always be prepared to meet our Maker.  One of the letters may be read by clicking here.

We appreciate the many prayers for our family. We are doing well.

In Christian Love,
Barbara Hanna
